On October 23rd, the annual WECSSO Banquet was held. The meal at the Serbian Club was delicious and plentiful. A plethora of door prizes were donated, a healthy “Share the Wealth” draw was held and prizes were presented to the winning teams in each division. As well Don Balkwill was honoured for his over 40 years as an umpire throughout the city and county. Earlier this year, a diamond was named after him at the Ciociaro Baseball Complex and he was presented with two baseball cards. As well, Bill Scheurman and Jim Bridge, two long-time executive members have retired from the board and were recognized for their many years of service to WECSSO.
