lou deschampsHe died peacefully surrounded by his family spending his last days in a true celebration of his life. It is with heavy hearts that we express the passing of our beloved Louis on December 30, 2014 at the age of 82 years. Devoted husband and life companion to Arleen (nee Zverina) for almost 60 years. Loving father of Kim Dunlop (Dave), Kathy Bortolin (Dan), Karen McMahan (Bob), Kelly Oliver (Mark), and Krista Clarke (George). Cherished and proud grandpa to C.J., Alex and Leah Dunlop, Nathan and Aron Bortolin, Bob and James McMahan and Morgan and Kurtis Oliver. Predeceased by parents Alcide and Rose Deschamps (nee Rivest). Dear brother of Raymond (late wife Mary). Predeceased by siblings Alphonse (Ethel), Albert (Rose), Hector (Gladys), Imelda Vigneux (Eddie), Marcel (Marion), Sam (Lucille), Leo, Gertrude (Elmer), Pete (survived by wife Rita), Rosaire (survived by wife Florence), Marguerite Johnson (Lloyd) and Bernard. Dear son-in-law to the late Tony and Laura Zverina (nee Laforet). Brother-in- law to Bernice Huha (late Vince), Doreen Parent (late Paul), the late Roger Zverina (Lorraine Ribble), late Don Zverina and Len Zverina. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Louis’s main focus was first and foremost his love for his wife, his five girls and family. He was a true athlete throughout his life and incorporated his love of sports by his leadership in various sport activities. He was one of the founders of Riverside Minor Baseball Association (both boys and girls). A dedicated coach for all ages for 25 years. He was treasurer of W.E.C.S.S.O. as an original founder and member from 1988 taking part in baseball into his 70th birthday. He was very involved in Parish activities and spent his entire life in community service. In his free time he was an avid builder and flyer of remote control model airplanes. He retired from Chrysler Canada after 35 years of service.
