Message from the President – Ron Ottogalli

Our season has come to an end.  Champions for each division have been declared, Fossils in the Blue division, Elbows Up in the Green Division, and Cavemen in the Red Division.  Congratulations to the players on these teams.  Also, a big thank to all our players for a very successful season of slo-pitch.  How does one define success?  I guess the definition means different things to different people.  Some measure success by wins and losses and ultimately winning the championship.  Others define success by improving personally as the season went along both offensively and defensively.  I look at being successful in a different light.  To me, being successful is the fact that even at my advanced age, I can play this wonderful game.  No matter how you define success, every season that we can play slo-pitch is a successful one- no matter how many games we win or lose or how we play personally- the important fact is that we are playing to the best of our ability and enjoying every moment with our fellow players.

Even though our slo-pitch season has ended, WECSSO still has two very important events on the calendar for players to attend, the Annual General Meeting and the Annual Banquet.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Our 2025 AGM will be held at the Ciociaro Club on Wednesday, October 1st at 1pm in Salon C. It is a very important meeting that the players should plan to attend.  You will learn firsthand the work that the Members of the Board put in to make our league second to none. By attending this meeting, you show your appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the members of our Board.  As players you see the product, the season itself.  What you do not see is the hard work and planning done by the board members during the off season to prepare for the next season.

  1. Presentation of the Year End financial report.  You will see the revenue and expenses of our organization and be able to ask any questions about this report.
  2. Commissioner’s Report- highlights of the 2025 season
  3. Proposed changes(s) to our constitution.
  4. Nominations to the Board for 2025-2027.
  5. Election of six board members for a two-year term on the Board
  6. Question and Answer period
  7. Adjournment

ANNUAL BANQUET

This year our banquet will be held on Wednesday October 22nd at the Ciociaro Club (Salon A).  Doors open at 4pm and dinner will be served at 5pm.  Tickets are $30 for players ($10 is refundable upon arrival) and $30 for guests. Cash Bar.  Deadline to purchase tickets is October 1st at the AGM.  The Social Committee has done a great job of planning and organizing the Banquet.  If you are interested in purchasing a ticket or need to cancel contact aldobertucci@gmail.com by Oct 1st at the latest.
