James (Jim) Kalman Schroll

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jim on March 16, 2017 at the age of 91. Jim has now been reunited with his beloved Liisa (2011). Dear son of the late James Elsworth and Susan “Suie” Schroll. Loving father of Liisa Ryan (Don), Sheila Lockhart (David) and Jim (Bonnie). Adored grandpa to Scott, Jennifer, Dana, Sarah, and Jarrod. Dear great-grandpa to Emma, Victoria, Khye, Maeve, Audrey and Adelaide. Jim was a proud retired firefighter for the City of Windsor for 30 years. At the time of his retirement in 1986, he was District Fire Chief for the City. Jim was also a founding member of the City of Windsor Senior Slo-Pitch Baseball League (WECSSO). He was a key organizer of the Windsor Firefighters’ Field Day Festival held for many years at Jackson Park and a longtime Royal Canadian Legion member. Jim will always be remembered as a hardworking, kind, generous man. He lived his life with integrity, honesty and commitment to service for others. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the EMS workers for their professional assistance and support. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Windsor Professional Firefighter Benefit Fund.
